MAKATI PHILIPPINES | Before I became too busy at work, I decided to book another staycation for myself. With so many hotels in Makati city, I came across City Garden Hotel . I was looking for a nice hotel that is within budget and situated in a place within easy reach of Makati’s nightlife and I think I found the right place.

Making a reservation on their website is fast and I encountered no problems at all.

It was 2:00 pm when we arrived in Makati just in time for check-in. At the reception, we handed in our reservation details, they checked on the system and a few minutes after, we received our key card and off we went to check our room. The moment we walked into the hotel, I already felt the warmth of the people: very friendly and all smiles.

The lobby is also very spacious and there are many places to sit.

City Garden Hotel Executive Deluxe Room

The room that we booked was the Executive Deluxe Room and when we walked in, we were really amazed at how spacious it was with one queen and one single bed. It was clean, it smelt good, and the neutral color palette used in the scheme was restful.

Such a lovely welcome start to our stay in the hotel.

The bed was nice and firm. The linen was very soft and the pillows were really good. We enjoyed a very restful sleep after a very active evening.

In addition to your very comfy beds, we also had other room amenities such as basic toiletries, bottled water, safety box, cable television, coffee and tea making facility and, of course, hot and cold shower. Everything around the room was clean and spotless just like how NYC maid service does it.

Since we were on the 8th floor, the view from our window was amazing.

After settling into our room, we wandered around and checked on the other amenities of the hotel. The first one we checked was the rooftop swimming pool. It wasn’t too busy so we ordered some beers and decided to go for a dip.

Yet while on the roof top, you can’t stop yourself from looking beyond those walls and seeing the amazing view of Makati .

Encima Roofdeck Restaurant

Next to the swimming pool, you will also find ENCIMA ROOFDECK RESTAURANT that offers a wide array of Texas-Mexican dishes that you will enjoy.

While waiting for dinner, you can also enjoy the ice cold drinks and cocktails at Encima. And from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, the restaurant has a Happy Hour where you can order cocktails for only Php 99.00 .

We ordered our favorite Classic Margarita and Mango Daiquiri. I had around 5! Oops!

You can either enjoy your drink next to the swimming pool or at the restaurant while staring at the city of Makati.

If you are missing your gym sessions, well they have a complete gym with equipment and facilities to help you sweat it out.

City Garden La Famosa Well Spa

Whether you are hotel guest or a walk-in guest, City Garden Hotel also has a wellness spa called LA FAMOSA where you can have treatments in your room or at the sauna and spa area located next to their gym. We both enjoyed a thoroughly professional and destressing massage from their well-qualified masseuses.

Though we failed to catch the sunset because of the overcast weather, we decided to order our dinner at Encima Roofdeck Restaurant. Here’s what we ordered:

RANCHOS BANQUETE – Php 400.00

CHILLI PORK RIBS – Php 565.00

BURRITOS – Php 350.00

MANGO FLAUTAS – Php 199.00

We were very full after finishing all our meals, but we really enjoyed each course as night time fell Here’s the view we had from our table of Encima Roofdeck Restaurant. It was stunning!

Makati Nightlife

Poblacion St. in Makati is now becoming a favorite spot for those who want to party or just chill. Good thing that City Garden Hotel is within the area and a walk away from some of the restaurants and bars. It was a nice walk and I loved the Poblacion vibe!

City Garden Hotel Buffet Breakfast at Bistro

After a restful sleep, we headed down to the 2nd floor where BISTRO Restaurant is located. This is where guests can enjoy their complimentary breakfast. If you woke up early, no worries because their breakfast starts early so you can go to Bistro and enjoy a cup of brewed coffee.

I was also very surprised with the variety of food they have on the breakfast buffet: from salads, pastries, savory dishes and so on.

Egg, waffle and pancake station.

Bacon, poached eggs, and local favorite such as danggit and tuyo are also available upon request.

Our stay at City Garden Hotel really was a great choice and I am not surprised as to why this hotel is very famous for those who are travelling for business, leisure and families who just want to have an enjoyable time in the city! One of the hotels in Makati City that I highly recommend!
