Driver’s License Renewal at the New LTO District Office Imus Cavite

5 years had gone by and it was time for me to renew my driver’s license. But we all know or are aware that sometimes registering our vehicle or getting a license whether for students, new license, or renewal would take the whole day because there are so many people. That was just based on my experience. But, I never thought that my visit to the new LTO Office in Imus City would change all that perspective.

Initially, I went to the LTO Renewal Office at Robinsons Dasmarinas, but getting a Medical Certificate took me 4 hours in the queue and when I went up to LTO, they already had a cut-off since they can only accommodate at least 100 people. I don’t want to go back the next day so I went home and decided to try LTO Imus.

The LTO District Office in Imus City is a newly constructed building in Malagasang and caters to license application and renewal, vehicle registration, and much more. It’s very clean and I like the building design. I find it very modern. The building has a nice air conditioning system. If they asked you to wait, chairs are available outside in the shade.

If you are commuting, you can catch a tricycle close to District Mall Imus or right under the flyover next to Pallas Athena Classique Subdivision in Anabu 2D Imus Cavite. Tricycle fare is around 20 to 40 pesos.

Requirements for Driver’s License Renewal

  1. Register at https://portal.lto.gov.ph/
  2. A PASS CDE ( Comprehensive Driver’s Examination ) result at the Portal.
  3. Print the Certificate from the examination. If you fail, take the exam again.
  4. Medical Certificate from an Authorized Clinic.
  5. Fill out a form at the LTO Office.
  6. Your expired license.

I had a case where I lost my license, but I got the receipt so I provided that and they accepted it.

When you have all the requirements handy, come to the LTO Office early and approach the guard or whoever working at LTO that you would like to get a form and a stub number so when they opened at 8:00. All you need to do is submit and wait for your name to be called.

I arrived at LTO Imus by 7:30 am and to my surprise, I was the first one to renew my license. So lesson learned, come early! Your forms will be validated by the staff and once validated, then you can go to the Cashier and pay the fees. Wait for a bit and they will take a photo of you, your signature, and fingerprints and in a few minutes, they will give you your license and off you go and drive around.

I was shocked that before lunchtime, I was already home. The staff at LTO Imus were actually very friendly and accommodating. Another thing I like about this new District office in Imus was everything you need like printing, car insurance, clinic, and smoke emission testing center are all available in the area. That’s actually very convenient because I made a mistake on my name and I had to do the exam again. It was actually my fault. But to work on it there was pretty easy and efficient.
