Last February 8, 2014 marked my 2nd Ultra-marathon
after the IBTUR 88km last year.
I was very excited about this event since it would be held in Cavite and would pass through where I live so coming home would be easy.
Aside from that, this race would end at Palace in Sky in Tagaytay City which I think is a great location to end an ultramarathon race because of it’s history and scenic view.
Daisy and I arrived at the Rajah Sulayman Park, Malate, Manila 2 hours before the event.
We were also met by our dear friends who came
to support and wish us good luck.
It is always advisable that you have a support team with you
if you are running an ultra marathon.
I am very lucky to be part of the Pinoy Aspiring Runners. A running group that aims to inspire individuals whether young or old to develop their love for running. This group has come a long way and is truly an inspiration to many.
The race started at exactly 12:00 midnight. It was a fun start. The race caused a little bit of traffic at the beginning but this eased off as runners reached Aguinaldo Highway.
Running along Aguinaldo Highway was good but it’s not easy. They had a bit of problem with their hydration stations. But I took it as a challenge. Some buses and other vehicles were driving so fast on a Sunday morning. That’s why we were all very alert to oncoming traffic and checked on everyone’s safety at all times.
I may be tired, but I still have many reasons to smile.
The route heading to Palace In The Sky overlooking the Taal Volcano was a sight to see. You can also feel the cool breeze Tagaytay City is known for.
Were getting closer and closer to the finish line. It may look very close, but the zigzag roads made it more challenging for runners.
Thank you Pinoy Aspiring Runners for being a great support team!
You guys are awesome!
The view from the Palace In The Sky. Beautiful!
I made it! My time was 10 hours and 42 minutes. I didn’t really care about time, but to be able to finish was already a big accomplishment!
I also had a chance to meet some of my running friends.
It was an awesome race indeed!
Once you finish the race, you will receive
the Finisher’s Trophy, Medal, Certificate, and a Finisher’s Shirt!
