If you’re planning to explore Subic Olongapo in Zambales Province, I highly recommend a visit to Baloy Long Beach. When it comes to accommodations along Baloy Beach, Treasure Island Beach Resort is an excellent choice.
Our journey began with an upcoming birthday celebration of a family friend in Olongapo. Anticipating a busy weekend, we decided to contact Treasure Island Resort ahead of time to secure our reservation, avoiding the inconvenience of finding all resorts fully booked upon our arrival.
Getting to Baloy Long Beach
Once our reservation was confirmed, our next step was to travel to Olongapo via the Victory Liner in Pasay City terminal. Boarding a bus with an Iba, Zambales sign, where it will pass through the Baloy Beach drop off. The one-way trip cost around Php 400.00, and we reminded fellow travelers to present their IDs for applicable discounts.
After a four-hour journey, we finally reached Baloy Long Beach and immediately made our way to the resort, Treasure Island Beach Resort.
Arrival at Treasure Island
Stepping into the resort, we were greeted by a smooth check-in process. Thanks to the staff’s kindness, our deluxe room was available earlier than expected. The spacious room met all our basic needs with amenities such as a safe, fridge, and television. The bed provided a comfortable retreat for a restful night’s sleep.
The bathroom offered a hot and cold shower, working perfectly. However, the slightly transparent bathroom door raised privacy concerns personally. A great solution was to turn off the light, ensuring a discreet environment.
Bar and Restaurant
Treasure Island’s convenience extended beyond the rooms. A few steps away, the Bar and Restaurant beckoned, offering a delightful array of local and Western cuisine, cocktails, and other beverages. Prices ranged from Php 200.00 to Php 500.00, with some specialty dishes costing more. Every meal, including shakes for the kids, starters, and main courses, proved enjoyable and worth the expense. In addition, if you are staying at a resort, a complimentary breakfast good for two will also be served.
Child-Friendly Pool
Right next to the Bar and Restaurant, a refreshing swimming pool awaited, a rarity among beachfront resorts in the area. The pool, with knee-deep corners, provided a safe space for children to enjoy a swim. Parents and guardians were reminded to remain vigilant, ensuring the safety of their little ones.
Our kids enjoyed swimming in the pool creating moments of pure fun for the entire family.
Exploring Baloy Long Beach
My first visit to Baloy Beach left a lasting impression. The fine gray sand, possibly from Mt. Pinatubo’s lahar, paired with pristine waters, showcased a beach committed to cleanliness. The minimal waves made it ideal for families, allowing the kids to play, run along Baloy Long Beach, and swim in the calm waters.
Treasure Island Dive Resort
For diving enthusiasts, Treasure Island Dive Resort boasts a convenient in-house dive shop. Licensed divers can explore Subic’s underwater wonders for Php 1500.00. Although time constraints prevented me from diving on this trip, I look forward to saving this experience for the next visit.
Weekend Entertainment
Adding more to the relaxing and fun holidays, Treasure Island Beach Resort come alive on weekends. The addition of live music every Saturday and Sunday enhanced the festive atmosphere. While some family members rested, I decided to enjoy the music while sitted at the bar, eventually dozing off around 11 pm after an enjoyable evening.
A Memorable Stay
Treasure Island Beach Resort in Baloy exceeded our expectations. The accommodating staff, comprehensive amenities, and vibrant atmosphere made it a preferred destination for local and Western tourists alike.
Despite our three-night stay feeling too short, it marked the beginning of more trips to Olongapo. We eagerly look forward returning to Baloy Beach and experiencing another delightful stay at Treasure Island Resort.
