LUCBAN QUEZON |Aside from the Longganisa of Lucban and the annual Pahiyas Festival, KAMAY NI HESUS is one place in Lucban considered to be a pilgrimage site and it’s been attracting a lot people and devotees from all over the country.
On our way to Tayabas by car, a friend of mine told us that she really wanted to visit Kamay ni Hesus for a quick stop over before going for lunch at Air Summit Gourmet . We didn’t mind since we were really going to drive pass this Pilgrimage site. With the use of GPS from our mobile phones, we easily found Kamay Ni Hesus.
How to Get to Kamay Ni Hesus from Manila?
You can go to Buendia, Pasay and look for Van Transport straight to Lucban Quezon. Then you can take a jeepney going to Tayabas.
From Buendia, Pasay, you can take a BUS to Lucena (Php 250). Get off at SM Lucena and ride a Van going to Lucban (Php 65.00).
Coming from Lucena to Lucban, it will take you straight to Kamay Ni Hesus. Lucban to Tayabas jeepneys will also take you past Kamay Ni Hesus.
I am not sure if there is an entrance fee in Kamay Ni Hesus, but what I am sure of is that there is a parking fee of Php 30.00 should you wish to park inside the premises. Donation boxes can also be seen around the area.
Is there a Dress Code in Kamay Ni Hesus?
As far as I observed, most people are wearing casual clothing like shorts or t. shirts But if you are attending one of the masses, I would recommend that visitors dress appropriately.
One of the attractions and perhaps a favorite place for children to wander around is the Garden of Eden. Here you will find a replica of Adam and Eve depicting events that happened during the start of the creation.
One of my favorite Bible stories was during the great flood when Noah built an Ark that saved his family and all the other animals on board the ark. At Kamay ni Hesus, you will also find a replica of Noah’s Ark which is also a famous location for picture taking.
Kamay Ni Hesus is considered to be a Healing Pilgrimage Site. In addition to the tourists, more people are coming here to personally pray or also with their love ones who are sick or waiting for miracles. If other places have Love Locks, here, you will find tons of Prayer Locks from devotees.
Your visit to Kamay Ni Hesus is never complete without a hike to towards the 50-foot Christ Risen statue. Before you start your ascent, make sure to hydrate and walk at your own pace. It can be a steep walk all the way to the top but it’s all worth it.
As you walk up towards the Risen Statue of Jesus Christ, you will come across 14 stations that illustrate the sacrifices of Jesus Christ before He was crucified. I remember very well during my first visit, we saw devotees praying at every station. Though I am not a Catholic but I could feel their strong Faith and some of them were even crying while praying.
fter a few minutes of walking, we finally reached the statue of the Risen Jesus Christ. And our first impression was it’s huge! Going all the way to the top could be challenging specially if you consider yourself unfit. But that doesn’t stop or hinder the devotees from walking up the steps. With the intense heat, Faith is stronger than anything else and that’s what really matters.
Aside from visiting the Shrine, many people come here to attend the Healing Mass headed by Rev. Fr. Joey Faller. Here are the schedule of Masses conducted at Kamay Ni Hesus. You may also check the Healing Mass schedule every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday.
