LOTTE TOWER OBSERVATION DECK, Hanoi Vietnam | Review

Spread the love

Considered the Capital of Vietnam, Hanoi is one of the nicest cities to visit, especially if you are traveling to this country for the first time. When we landed in Vietnam, we spent a few days in places like Ho Chi Minh, Hue, DaNang, and Hoi An. And to complete our travels through this beautiful country, we decided to visit Hanoi as our last stop before flying to Manila.

Compared to any other city, Hanoi is a much colder place, especially in December.  One of the places you must not miss to get a nice view of the city is the LOTTE OBSERVATION DECK. Lotte Center Hanoi stands at 272 meters with a total of 65 floors. At the moment, this building is the tallest in the city.

In the building, you will also find offices, department stores, hotels, residences, and of course, the most exciting part is the Observation Deck.

A budget place to stay in Hanoi

While in Hanoi, we decided to stay right in the city. Royal Palace Hanoi is one of the nicest and most affordable bed and breakfast establishments you can find in the city. We told them that we wanted to visit the Lotte Observation Deck to book a Grab Taxi for us to get there. That is so nice and convenient.

What time does Lotte Observation Deck open?

Monday – Sunday | 9:00 am – 11:00 pm

Lotte Tower Observation Deck Entrance Fee

General – Adults VND 230,000 | USD 10
Children VND 170,000 | USD 8

This place could get so busy, so you should book online.

Since we booked online, we got the tickets easily and waited for the observation deck to be open. We entered the elevator and went all the way up to the 65th floor. That is very, very high!

We got out of the elevator, and there we saw Hanoi like never before. The weather was good, and the skies were so clear so we could see so much of Hanoi even from up afar. It was an amazing sight to see!

Around the observation deck, you will find benches where you can relax and enjoy the view. If you are not scared of heights, you can also take a photo of the building’s edge. It freaked me out at first, but I just had to go through with it.

If you are not scared of heights, there are a number of glass floors that extend out of the building. That freaked me out, but I was only here once, so I decided to go for it slowly and walked on the glass.

After a few attempts, I was able to finally walked on the clear glass. I was scared but just had to trust that this was strong enough to hold my weight. I had to remind myself that this was my only chance to experience this, so yeah, there was pressure, so I have to do it! It was worth it!

I love these Angel wings. There are several glass floors around the observation deck, and this by far is one of my favorites since my name is Michael Angelo (just like the Angel 😉

To make it more memorable, they have photographers on standby if you want a photo taken while on the glass floor.

There is also a coffee shop inside if you want to relax and enjoy some coffee overlooking Hanoi. They also have a museum that showcases more about the rich culture and history of Vietnam.

In the end, we were very happy we got to experience Lotte Observation Deck in the morning when there were not many tourists around. I could also imagine coming here at night when the city is all lit up.  So, when visiting Hanoi, do not forget to check on Lotte Observation Deck. I guarantee you. You won’t be disappointed!
