Charito by Bag of Beans exudes splendor comparable to the majestic Taal Volcano, the scenic spot in Tagaytay that tourists often flock to just to witness its beauty. With the restaurant’s relaxing; high-end ambiance along with the quality semi-fine dining experience it provides, Charito is a restaurant that tourists must visit. This is why, before I checked for my staycation, we decided to give Charito by Bag of Beans a try!
Moreover, for special dates with your special someone or special celebrations with your loved ones, this place is highly recommended to make moments with them extra special. Or if you feel like just giving yourself a little treat, go head…you deserve it. It’s also worth noting that along with the flavorful dishes they serve for your dining pleasure, you will also enjoy a spectacular view of the Taal Volcano and Taal Lake from their balcony which provides a great venue for al fresco dining.
One of Bag of Beans Elegant Restaurants in Tagaytay
Charito is the fifth addition to the Bag of Beans line of restaurants. The first Bag of Beans restaurant was founded in 2001. Then followed the other branches: Athena, West Lake, Summit, and Charito. All the branches are situated in the most scenic and relaxing locations in Tagaytay. They all exemplify the Bag of Beans’ signature elegance, each with their own distinctive characteristics while carrying out the line’s customary components and ingredients.
However, Charito came as an upgrade in style, for it was created in an attempt to cater to the upper-class market. This posh restaurant was named after the owner and was meticulously designed for a more deluxe appeal that sets it apart from its predecessors. It opened in Tagaytay City early in 2016.
A pleasant atmosphere can also add to customers’ dining pleasure. The aesthetic of the restaurant’s interior really is a feast for the eyes, which matches the feast for the taste buds that one can experience from the rich flavors of the dishes that they serve. The refined design of the restaurant’s interior creates a cozy yet stylish vibe for unwinding while savoring the food and drinks.
With their outdoor seating, customers can dine; wine; and relax as they bask in the beauty of nature and an amazing view of Taal Volcano. The motif of the restaurant’s exterior is just as pleasing to the eyes as well.
Various Dishes in European, American, and Filipino Cuisine
There is a wide range of dishes you can choose from their menu to satisfy your taste buds. Starting from the stimulating appetizer; to the savory entree; and down to the sweet finale of dessert, there’s a lot of scrumptious choices from either European; American; or Filipino cuisine. Apart from the tastiness, another great thing about the food is that it comes in heaped servings.
For our entree, we had fish and chips. What I loved about it was that the fish fillet was crisp on the outside but moist and tender on the inside. And the taste of the herb-battered fish fillet was complemented by the fries.

To add to that, it was served with buttered garden vegetables at the side. For dessert, we had salted caramel cake. The sugary sweet taste of the caramel-flavored icing was mixed with a moist chocolate cake, which made it a very tasty treat. And for our drinks, we had a delightful mug filled with the tangy fruity goodness of the Dalandan shake.
Also, you may have a delicious start for your day with the breakfast that they serve from 6:30 am to 11:00 am. And if ever you get hungry in the middle of the day, you may also have some snacks there. To go along with your food, you can have a choice of either cold or hot beverages. They also serve wines and beers. When I went there with my friend for lunch, we really enjoyed the food and drinks. They were super delicious!
Delectable Freshly Baked Goods Available in Charito’s Bakery
If you have a sweet tooth, it can surely be satisfied by the yummy pastries that are freshly available day and night in their very own bakery. There is a wide selection of cakes, bread, cookies, and etc that you can choose from with your heart’s desire. These pastries would also make excellent gifts or “pasalubong” that family and friends would definitely love. Do not miss taking home one of their famous raisin loaves!
Complete With a Bar
Another one of Charito’s distinctive features worth highlighting is its own bar. They serve their very own Charito cocktails and special drinks concocted by its bartenders for every month as their special drink for the month.
There are three function rooms accessible in Charito, namely Summer; Spring; and Winter. Each of the rooms can accommodate six to twenty people. They are perfect for romantic dates and having a private dinner. Moreover, Charito does have a romantic aura and with their intimate function rooms to add to that, Charito has a reputation as a venue for wedding engagements and marriage proposals.
The meals don’t really come cheap at Charito. The average cost for two people would be approximately Php 1500.00. But given the lip-smacking taste; huge servings; wonderful atmosphere; and quality service, it is worth it.
Charito is open from 6:30 am to 11:00 pm on weekdays and 6:30 am to 12 am on weekends. That being said, its business hours gives you plenty of chances as well as reasons to come.
The Bag of Beans has always been about elegance, coziness, and pleasurable dining. They have become widely known for it and have become successful in the restaurant industry that they have expanded their business in several locations in Tagaytay.
Each of the branches of Bag of Beans is great in their own way. But Charito would be the place to go if:
