As we travel from place to place, food is something that is very difficult to ignore. I believe that you can get to know the culture of the place by their food. When I heard about a new restaurant that opened in Alabang and that served a fusion of European and Asian food, I had to take my friend to AKROTIRI Restaurant. It’s location in Commerce Center in Alabang, makes it so ideal for people in the South of Manila to get to experience the classic Greek heritage of Mediterranean food that overlaps with Malay, Oriental, and European influences.
The restaurant has an intimate feel which we liked very much. The music being played was relaxing without being intrusive. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the food.
The bar at Akrotiri Bar certainly says: “Ask me for anything and I have it for you!” The selection of wines and spirits are just enormous, you can check their menu and you’ll see.
Akrotiri also has a place for everyone. Whether you are with your loved ones, family, or with colleagues, they can always provide a place for you.
Let us now look look at the menu, but first can I just say that I love the leather cover on the menus. It looks luxurious and I am very impressed with every detail they put into the restaurant.
So, while browsing the menu, complimentary Home Made Pita bread and Tzatziki Dip arrived at the table. The pita bread was well seasoned and the dip made of Greek Yoghurt, cucumber slices, and other spices complemented the bread perfectly.
I enjoyed the variety of food they have on the menu. There are so many to choose from, and all of them sounded delicious. But we can only order what we can finish. So here they are:
PIMMS LEMONADE Php 300.00
This out of the menu drink is probably one of the most refreshing drinks you could have. Mixed with different fruits and PIMMS liqueur, it somehow reminded us of PIMMS Cup. I love this drink!
We started off with a healthy organic salad as our appetizer. Most of the servings were more than adequate for sharing.
Organic Salad with mixed greens, vegetables, sunflower seeds, citrus dressing. Php 300.00
When I saw Wagyu beef on the menu, I could not resist the temptation to try it for myself. The moment I had that first bite of patty, I already fell in love. It was smoky, flavorful, and it was cooked to perfection. Another favorite are the rustic fries. They are thinly sliced, crisp on the outside and moist on the inside, and what ever spices they put on the fries – it was delicious!
Wagyu Burger with Cheese, Shitake Mushroom, Caramelized Onions and Rustic Fries
Php 500.00
Another delicious dish you have to try is their Chicken Satay skewers with rice, curry sauce and grilled vegetables. Since my friend is not a rice eater, he decided to replace the rice with rustic fries which also blended well with the curry sauce. He enjoyed the dish very much and so did I!
Chicken Satay Skewers with Rice, Curry Sauce and Grilled Vegetables Php 400.00
To complete our meal, we ordered a dessert because of it’s uniqueness. When you first look at it, it looks like a rich organic soil. With flower petals and mint, you can dig into the richness of this dessert. Whoever thought of this delicious dessert is so innovative!
Chicken Garden Mosaiko Php 450.00
Akrotiri Restaurant is a great addition the growing food scene in Alabang. Their flavors really take you on a gastronomic tour of European and Asian flavors. A place I highly recommend for those searching for a cozy place and good quality food in the South!
It’s worth craving for!
