Coron is one place in the Philippines that we love coming back and to take our visitors and friends with us. One place that struck us while browsing on the internet was Sophia’s Garden Resort. Located in Sitio Jolo, Barangay 5 in Coron town, this garden resort is away from all the bustling noise of the town which is great.
When we arrived at the reception, a refreshing juice drink was offered by this gentleman. The staff were very accommodating and hospitable.
The moment we entered the resort, I looked around and felt the vibe of the place. It kind of brought me back in time to when the Spanish were here. With the Capiz shell windows and furniture, I could not wait to see what our room would look like. Another thing I like about the place was the exclusivity of the garden resort since they only have 8 rooms.
And when we opened the door to our room, we were overwhelmed by how beautiful the rooms were. The floral scent as we came in created an ambiance that made me feel that I was home. The rooms are not fancy but very tasteful.
One of the focal points of the room are their stained glass lamp shades which are just beautiful. Bath towels and other toiletries were presented so nicely and neatly with flowers around it. So sweet of them!
I never usually take pictures of the bathroom, but for Sophia’s Garden Resort, I must and I wish I could take home their porcelain basin (kidding!). They also have a big shower head with hot and cold water. Just what everybody needs.
One place to relax at Sophia’s Garden is to swim in their swimming pool or relax in the Jacuzzi. You can also grab a book at the reception and just lounge around the pool area with a cool drink or cocktails. Talk about total relaxation!
Before going on any activities around town or island hopping, do not forget to try out the food at their restaurant called El Comidor. Aside from the delicious food being served here, you will also appreciate the Spanish inspired interior of this restaurant.
Sophia’s Garden Resort was the one who also organized our island hopping tour. The tricycle from the resort to town is only 4 minutes away and transportation is available round the clock. So is the location a big issue? Definitely not!
If you are looking for a quiet and beautiful place to stay with a homey feel to it, then try considering Sophia’s Garden Resort as your place to stay in Coron, Palawan. This beautiful resort received very good reviews from TripAdvisor and I am not surprised as to why.
